Pacific Cross Announces Acquisition by Paramount Life & General Holdings Corporation

Chubb to Acquire Liberty Mutual’s Insurance Operations in Thailand and Vietnam

AA Insurance Brokers is committed to keeping clients and partners informed of key developments in the insurance landscape. In a significant industry update, Chubb Limited has announced a major regional acquisition, signing agreements to acquire Liberty Mutual’s property and casualty (P&C) insurance businesses in Thailand and Vietnam.

The move marks a strategic expansion of Chubb’s footprint in Southeast Asia, further strengthening its presence in key regional markets. The businesses involved — LMG Insurance in Thailand and Liberty Insurance in Vietnam —offer a broad suite of personal and commercial P&C products, ranging from automotive and health insurance, to property and industrial all-risk coverage. In Thailand, LMG Insurance not only issues policies under its own brand but also partners with April Thailand to offer policies under the April name.

Together, LMG Insurance and Liberty Insurance reported approximately USD 275 million in net premiums written in 2024. The acquisition also brings an extensive distribution network into Chubb’s portfolio, including 56 branches, 2,600 brokers and agents, and 26 finance partners across both countries. Completion of the acquisition is expected by the second quarter of 2025 in Thailand, with Vietnam following by late 2025 or early 2026, subject to regulatory approval and standard closing conditions.

As part of our mission to offer expert guidance and reliable, personalised insurance solutions, AA Insurance Brokers will continue to monitor these changes and communicate relevant updates to ensure that clients remain well-informed and well-protected. We will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available. Read Chubb’s announcement on their website here.
