Health Insurance Thailand
Thailand is a beautiful country, with nice people and a cuisine that is (or is just) among the best in the world. You may have moved to Thailand for work or retirement some time ago and are now nodding yes because you agree with us completely.
It may also be that you are planning to return to Thailand as soon as possible to finally see your family, partner or friends again, or to fulfil that long-cherished dream: to move to Thailand simply because the sun shines so often, for work, because you have worked long enough or to change your life completely.
You probably know that moving is a major event, especially if your new home is on the other side of the world. You will have to choose a new place to live, you might have to find a school for the children, you will have to struggle through a mountain of visa paperwork, find a reliable bank and maybe you have already started to learn some Thai.
Of course, you’d also like to have reliable and affordable health insurance in Thailand. This is certainly possible (just ask our clients), but there are a few important things to keep in mind. Health insurance here may work differently than what you’re accustomed to. This applies to health insurance in Thailand for expats, retirees, new residents, and those who have been living here for some time. Situations and policies can change, so it’s essential to stay informed about your options.

These are mostly questions that you will probably not have to answer in your home country. Fortunately, we have had to deal with all of these questions. You will understand that we have the answers ready. You are not searching for information on our website for nothing.
AA Insurance Brokers has been advising (expat) families, retirees, self-employed entrepreneurs and other business customers for decades about the medical insurance that perfectly fits their personal situation and budget.
But I can go directly to a Thai insurer, you might think. That's right, you can. The premium is ultimately the same. Except that because we are already a large customer, we get discounts that you do not get if you go directly. On top of that, we can offer you a variety of options. We discuss with you various insurance policies from several companies and choose the best one. With an insurance company, you don't have that choice. Moreover, we work for you and not for the insurance company; your interests come first. Naturally, we will assist you in handling a potential claim.
Health Insurance Thailand price. What will a Thailand health insurance cost?
We can tell you exactly, but then we need to know a bit more about you. Such advice is very delicate, because the trick is to get rid of what is not necessary (and therefore not to pay for it). It goes without saying that a higher level of cover means a higher premium and taking a deductible means a lower premium. Also the choice for hospital coverage and the addition of a dental insurance determine the cost of the health insurance. And: is the health insurance only for Thailand or maybe also for Singapore and Hong Kong? We will calculate it all for you (and remove what is not needed). That way you will get the best health insurance for Thailand, tailor-made for you, from a professional and efficient insurance broker.
To give you an idea of the costs, we have made a few examples.
-A man of 59, who lives or will live in Thailand has a lot to choose from; from a very cheap insurance to a very expensive one. We often recommend the Maxima Plan of Pacific Cross. Depending on the choices the insured makes, this will cost about 70,000 Thai baht (about 1,800 euro) a year. This includes hospital admission, but also outpatient treatment. If the man does not want the latter, he gets a 20% discount. Also included is the Covid-19 certificate that proves the man is insured for 100,000 USD. The Thai government requires this for entry into Thailand.
-A family with parents in their late forties, an adolescent and a nearly grown-up child is insured for a premium of 124,365 Thai baht for one year (that is less than 3,300 euros). You will then benefit from a 12.5% family discount. All family members are insured for hospital admission up to 16 million Thai baht (420,000 euros) per year. This applies not only to Thailand, but also to most other ASEAN countries and Europe. Plus, there is coverage for emergencies outside the insured area if you are not travelling for more than 30 days. The limit is then 1.6 million Thai Baht.
AA Insurance Brokers has the best health insurance Thailand for everyone. We will check with major insurance companies such as April Thailand, Pacific Cross, Luma, Aetna Thailand, AXA, LMG, Thaivivat, Cigna Thailand, Thai Health, Viriyah and Allianz to find the right solution at the best price.
